The dawn does not truly break—it tears apart,
Light flickers from the sky's wound, as though it too is torn,
The sun bursts forth like a conqueror,
Grasping at the tips of hope, shaking the horizon.
The sky screams, opening like an old wound,
The clouds do not unfurl as carpets,
They hang instead like tattered curtains, concealing hopes,
The wind creeps through the silent cracks,
Carrying the dust of dreams that never arrived.
The mountains stand like old backs, hunched,
Shaking their heads gently, greeting with bitterness,
As though they know: the oaths spoken are like thunder,
Lost in the valleys before they can echo.
The thunder does not strike,
It smiles behind the clouds, waiting for the right moment to flare,
The rain falls slowly, but does not purify,
It only thickens the mud,
Allowing the footprints in the earth to sink deeper.
And the sea?
It no longer waits at the horizon,
Crashing its waves in silent fury,
One by one, promises are swept into the abyss,
Lost, like a shipwreck that was never found.
Under this dusty sky,
Someone stands amid cracks and rumblings,
Crowned by time, weary from waiting,
Yet the horizon remains dim, refusing to shine,
As if it knows: what gleams may not be real.

Di Bawah Langit yang Berdebu

Oleh: Leni Marlina
Fajar tak benar-benar merekah—ia robek,
Cahaya memercik dari luka langit, seakan terluka,e
Mentari menyeruak seperti seorang penakluk
Menggenggam pucuk-pucuk asa, mengguncang cakrawala.
Langit menjerit, terbuka seperti luka lama,
Awan-awan tak merentang karpet,
Hanya menggantung seperti tirai usang, menyembunyikan harapan,
Namun horizon tetap buram, menolak bersinar,
Seakan tahu: yang gemilang belum tentu nyata.
